Helping girls resume secondary education after early marriage, pregnancy, financial hardship or family challenges interrupted their studies.
Support educationUfulu Girls Foundation helps vulnerable girls return to school, regain confidence and build independent futures with dignity, safety and opportunity.
Founded by Rose Stuart Phiri, Ufulu Girls Foundation is a registered nonprofit working in Kasungu, Malawi. It supports girls whose education was interrupted by early marriage, teenage pregnancy, poverty or other difficult circumstances.
“Ufulu” means freedom in Chichewa. For us, freedom means the chance to learn, make informed choices, become self-reliant and shape a future without being limited by yesterday.
Our work combines education, protection and empowerment so girls receive more than a place in class—they receive the support needed to stay, grow and thrive.

Our guiding beliefA second chance at education can protect a girl from exploitation, increase her future earning power and help her become a positive force in her family and community.
Safe accommodation would allow more students—especially those travelling from distant or unsafe areas—to remain close to school, focus on learning and receive consistent support.
Individuals, businesses, churches, foundations and community groups can all play a meaningful role in keeping girls safe and learning.
